Trakošćan was built in the late 13th century as part of the defense fortification network of the Zagorje principality. It was a small fortress serving as an observation post overlooking the road from Ptuj towards the Bednja valley. In the first few centuries of its existence, Trakošćan and the surrounding area were ruled by an unknown patrician family.

2. FULL DAY EXCURSION TO PLITVICE LAKES (10 hours)
The natural attributes of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, uniqueness and sensibility of that phenomenon, deserve a full attention of our visitors. Recreational aspect of stay and the amazement with beauty of the area that conquers by its natural diversity and harmony of shapes and colours in any of the seasons, is based on many mutually conditioned natural characteristics.
Family farm „Pod rastočkim krovom“ It is situated on holding of family Holjevac in water-mill settlement Rastoke and is in their possession.
Rastoke – empire for walker – are a water mill settlement. It is situated on the place where Slunjčica river do to delta like a spilling.
Here in Rastoke in the way of 600 m the azure – green water of the Slunjčica river rushes steeply into Korana river over a number of travertine barriers and waterfalls. Every of these waterfalls have its name (Buk, Hrvoje, Vilina kosa, Konjski rep…).
First mills were built in 17. century and maybe even before. Most mills were built at the end of the 19. century and at the begin of the 20. century.
The main building materials are wood and travertine.
In 1962. Rastoke are registreed as a reservation of nature and cultural importance.

4. BUS AND WALKING CITY TOUR WITH COSTUMED GUIDE
Our walk through the streets of the Upper Town will take us to St. Mark's Church, a symbol of Zagreb, to the best view of Zagreb from under the Lotrščak Tower and to the Stone Gate where we light a candle. Only in Zagreb the noon is announced by the cannon firing from the Lotrščak Tower and city parks are arranged in the form of a horse shoe. Zagreb has Maksimir, the oldest public cultivated park in Europe and Archaeological Museum is proud to present the mummy with the longest Etruscan epitaph... The journey through Zagreb's heritage and tradition will be enriched by the unique taste of pepper biscuits and visit one of the upper town cafes.
